Dealers Not Worried about Marijuana Legalization in D.C.
02/26/2015
Washington D.C. has legalized Marijuana! Under Initiative 71, you can possess unto 2 ounces of marijuana, and share up to 1 ounce with a friend. This is the legislative version of ‘Puff Puff Pass’. Under this Initiative you can also grow up to 6 plants and 3 flowers, but this isn’t a major concern for most people, from consumers to dealers. It can up to 3-4 months and take up about 25 square feet of space to grow a healthy plant. And in DC that kind of space is tough to find considering there needs to be room saved for lobbying and lying and hiding dark money. Because of this the the growing clause doesn’t have much breakthrough or efficiency like it did in Colorado or Washington. Dealers aren’t worried because people will still prefer to get it old fashioned way. Either having dealer come their house or vice versa, or if you want to over dramatize it, meet in a dark alley with sunglasses on. According to one dealer marijuana mostly circulated through a close network of friends. It terms of marijuana, you just want to keep you friends close, forget you have enemies. The concern for home growth is minimal since people don’t want to deal with hassle or worry they are not growing the right thing. If they cultivate the wrong kind of substance, they can cause harm to themselves and others. But even that is less of a concern, since 70% of the voters were more excited about the carrying clause of the law rather than the growing. Growing should be left to the professionals and enjoyment of the substance to the general public.
