The Black Panther Party’s Mission Was Basic Human Rights! [FFON 206]

Since the media and the oligarchs that rule of a plutocratic system want the masses to believe that Bobby Seale, Huey Newton, Fred Hampton and the rank & file of the Black Panther Party were some kind of anarcho-terror group, try to raise Black Atlantis from the depths of the Mississippi River, I thought it would important to address and talk about the 10 point system that the Black Panthers based their philosophies and actions on. 

The first point stated: We Want Freedom. We Want Power To Determine the Destiny Of Our Black Community. We believe that Black people will not be free until we are able to determine our destiny.

This is pretty straightforward. I think even the most close minded individual can say this is pretty logical and sound. And if you’re confused, let’s put it this way, what would a rich out of touch white person know about the struggles of an underfunded, over-policed neighborhood? The answer is: not a good goddamn thing. Especially when you’re unwilling to listen and only care about Retweets and likes!  

The second point stated: We Want Full Employment For Our People. We believe that the federal government is responsible and obligated to give every man employment or a guaranteed income. We believe that if the White American businessmen will not give full employment, then the means of production should be taken from the businessmen and placed in the community so that the people of the community can organize and employ all of its people and give a high standard of living.

This idea is still being argued in our society today! In 1966 the Black Panthers were advocating not just for a Universal Basic Income but also a Federal Jobs Guarantee that would ensure that every American is taken care of in this country by a government that should be for and by the people. 

Look even the most conservative Constitutionalist can be on board with this idea. If the idea of this nation is to have a government for and by the people, then the role of government should be to provide for us with us in charge! This makes Universal Basic Income a Constitutional Idea, which means the Constitution might be Socialist and every Conservative just had a minor stroke.   

For as much as the Republicans and Democrats are concerned putting Americans to work, they and their crony capitalist friends don’t really provide jobs that equate to a high standard of living or just A standard of living! And the right-to-work advocates say that this notion is false because Americans are doing great! 

Before this 2020 pandemic they argued that the unemployment rate was so low that there are 2 and sometimes even 3 jobs for the average American! Incredible! Look how much work they have the right to work and how they exercise these rights. The sound of victory is an exasperated, collective sigh from the Working Class as they plop on their couch to pass out after an 19 hour day. America – Land of employment & Home of the overworked and under represented.

The unemployment rate due to the Pandemic is getting so high so that it’s becoming mentally ill. That’s why it’s called a Depression! Even the unemployment rate looks at this life and asks, “what’s even the point!” America’s so depressed with its high unemployment rate that it hasn’t seized the means of it’s pants in like a century!  

And before anyone starts arguing with me about this, I just want to point out there are no fast food employees driving the newest Sedan with bluetooth configurations and a backup camera. They are driving their parents hand-me-downs that has a very specific way you have to start the car without the engine catching on fire and spontaneously combusting all known Geo Metros simultaneously. 

This is a call to abolish class slavery in our society. The Working Class makes virtually no money but is placated to on a consistent basis. Questions of how we are going to help fund decent living conditions for them are met with “where’s the money gonna come from?” But no such questions are asked about Bank bailouts, extraordinary military budgets, new gold toilets for the rich and the astronomical amount of turtle wax used on Jeff Bezos’ head! At this point that vicious dome is so shiny you can see his oppressive glisen from space!

And the question must be asked why the Working Class can’t have a higher quality of life where we don’t have to work 2-3 jobs and pretend like that’s a good thing? What makes us undeserving of providing a life for ourselves and our families that doesn’t involve fearing whether our bills are paid up, our roofs don’t disappear and where our next plate of food comes from? For any person, politician or public figure that goes against this second point of the Black Panthers, goes against providing a good life for hard working Americans! 

The third point states: We Want An End To The Robbery By The Capitalists Of Our Black Community. We believe that this racist government has robbed us, and now we are demanding the overdue debt of forty acres and two mules. Forty acres and two mules were promised 100 years ago as restitution for slave labor and mass murder of Black people. We will accept the payment in currency which will be distributed to our many communities. The Germans are now aiding the Jews in Israel for the genocide of the Jewish people. The Germans murdered six million Jews. The American racist has taken part in the slaughter of over fifty million Black people; therefore, we feel that this is a modest demand that we make.

This is the idea of financial reparations. At this point you can translate 40 acres and 2 mules to a decent house and 2 full size Sedans, with back-up cameras! And again this idea is met with the ever deafening “where’s the money gonna come from?” Oh I dunno, why don’t you ask your banker friends who keep robbing us blind every chance they get. In fact we are now adding our sight back to this modest demand as well!

The fourth point states: We Want Decent Housing Fit For The Shelter Of Human Beings. We believe that if the White Landlords will not give decent housing to our Black community, then the housing and the land should be made into cooperatives so that our community, with government aid, can build and make decent housing for its people.

Housing is a Basic Human right! The fact that in America we see thousands of Homeless people that we as a society are unwilling to help, means we are failing to provide Human Rights to citizens. And a lot of these homeless folks do have jobs, some of them are veterans and yes, some of them are mentally unstable, but that doesn’t mean they are undeserving of help. 

We see this today from what’s happening with the pandemic with the loss of jobs and the pay cuts of the Working Class. There is a moratorium on evictions but there’s no cancelation of Rents, mortgages or debt. Which means even though most people have a roof over their head, the mounting debt associated with that roof is clogging the gutters and ensures they might wind up homeless. 

Then the banks and other financial institutions can and will seize these properties. Which is heartbreaking and awful and will mean most of us will have to move back in with our parents. Look that’s an evil I wish on none of my enemies. As Americans we have the right to masturbate in peace! But at least we can record those hijinks and hope we get picked up for a 3 season run on CBS to try and get that house back right?

Now the Black Panthers actually put this into effect in their communities in order to protect their families from the FBI, who were targeting the Panthers. They called them Panther Pads, which were 3-4 bedroom apartments and houses, that would have 10 Panthers living there with a rotating chore list and security! This idea could be put into effect today to help communal living thrive and possibly end homelessness.   

The fifth point states: We Want Education For Our People That Exposes The True Nature Of This Decadent American Society. We Want Education That Teaches Us Our True History And Our Role In The Present-Day Society. We believe in an educational system that will give to our people a knowledge of self. If a man does not have knowledge of himself and his position in society and the world, then he has little chance to relate to anything else.

History is written by the winners and that’s obviously because if it was written by the losers, it’d be all whiny about how the winners cheated and how sore the losers are from the all the oppression. The problem is sometimes the bad guys win and have to convince us that they are the good guys! Which is why history has turned in a college freshman level creative writing workshop!  

American History is boiled into these popcorn facts about George Washington chopping down a cherry tree to manifest destiny produce or Ben Franklin inventing electricity with a key and some STIs or Thomas Jefferson owning a mansion in Virginia named after an artisanal pasta sauce, Monticello. And we celebrate all 3 of these fine American Presidents…by putting them on currency that we pass around more frequently than Ben Franklin passed around his herpes!

American history celebrates the shit out of Robber Barons like Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockerfeller, but neglects to point out that they constantly advocated for violence against striking workers. Andrew Carnegie was known to publicly claim he was on his workers side and in private he would talk about crushing the worker and their precious unions too! Andrew Carnegie would give speeches from his private train, which in the late 1800s was like owning a private jet! And yes, it did get crazy on those trains. Lots of bare ankles and some folks were even wiggling those toes! How naughty!?

But America doesn’t celebrate the strikes that gave us our precious weekend, the 8 hour work day, a lunch break and the right to masturbate in the bathroom because we’re living with our parents. America doesn’t celebrate the Black Panthers who were advocating for the truth, fighting for the working class and ensuring the oligarchic oppression wouldn’t continue. Winners shouldn’t write history through their skewed lens. History belongs to us losers, because we know the truth of how the winners won!  

The sixth point states: We Want All Black Men To Be Exempt From Military Service. We believe that Black people should not be forced to fight in the military service to defend a racist government that does not protect us. We will not fight and kill other people of color in the world who, like Black people, are being victimized by the White racist government of America. We will protect ourselves from the force and violence of the racist police and the racist military, by whatever means necessary.

Now to put this context, this was during the Vietnam War which had a lot of people that were actively protesting the draft and the War itself! Now this is still prevalent today! The Working Class Americans are the ones sent to go fight the illegal wars of the rich to acquire resources that don’t belong to them from Black & Brown countries. This one is going to cost more than 40 acres and 2 mules!

In fact the cost of the American War Machine is about $2 Trillion! And there’s no one asking “but where the money gonna come from!?” If we decreased this spending by half we can fund Medicare for All & infrastructure programs which would cost $350 billion AND $22 billion to feed all the Americans in this country! Then we’d still have enough left over for 40 acres and too many mules! 

In today’s pandemic climate, the whole world decided to call a cease fire to Military operations but instead in America we have a former CIA Director as our Secretary of State calling for more bombings of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Yemen! And there is logic behind these actions. If the virus, SARS-CoV-2, sees how big our explosions are, it’ll realize how big our dicks are and then it won’t try to invade America!

America also utilizes Economic Wars in the form of Sanctions. From Iran, Venezuela to Nicaragua, American sanctions have been put into place specifically to hinder these nations’ wealth and the distribution of aid and medical supplies to these countries. Why? Well because they’re evil! In Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro gave his people groceries and cancelled all rents and mortgages. Kindness is evil, you guys! What’s he up to? Communism and Kindness, both start with ‘K’s so, that’s something. And if you’re asking, why are we even trying to control Venezuela, the official statement from the White House is “Shut your dumb fucking face you commie pinko asshat!” 

America is also enacting an Economic War against its own citizens. There is an infinite reserve when it comes to the military budget but confusion about math and balancing the books when we talk about funding Medicare For All! In 1964 MLK pushed for a Federal Aid program for Black Americans who much like poor white Americans were stuck in poverty. This would help both Black & White Americans in poverty and would’ve rivaled the military budget as it should! If you want true equality, we should fund programs that save lives at the same rate as, if not more than, the programs that take life! That’s what is known as the circle of life! The Yin & the Yang. Look this is like a See-Saw at a playground. You have to have 2 kids of equal weight to achieve balance. But when the high school football jock wants to see-saw with the kindergartner, you create a catapult and that’s always been an act of war. 

Now the 7th point talks about Ending Police Brutality, which we addressed, so lets move to point number 8 which states: We Want Freedom For All Black Men Held In Federal, State, County And City Prisons And Jails. We believe that all Black people should be released from the many jails and prisons because they have not received a fair and impartial trial.

America has the largest prison population in the world! Because we don’t really care what we’re number 1 at, as long as we’re number 1 at it! In the case of Muntaquim, who we talked about earlier, it’s evident that the criminal justice system was trying to lock up a revolutionary. There’s evidence about who fired the gun that killed the officers and it was proven that he didn’t fire the weapon. He still remains in prison today! 

In 1969 Bobby Seale was arrested after delivering an Anti-War speech at a college in Chicago! He was invited to be there! He didn’t just show up and start yelling into a bullhorn “Let me tell yah about the motha fuckin war!” Seale was arrested for “inciting violence”. Again, he was making an anti-war speech, which is LITERALLY THE OPPOSITE OF INCITING VIOLENCE! They didn’t let his attorney show up for the trial and he represented himself.

The judge would allow Bobby Seale to defend himself and it got so out of hand that Bobby Seale’s mouth was taped up and he was chained to a chair! The only thing this judge didn’t do to prove he was a racist was wear a Klan hood during the trial! Things got so bad, there were calls from all across the country to stop the trial!

[SC 8] In European countries revolutionaries who have committed far grander acts of violence are set free after they have served their sentence and expressed remorse like Muntaquim has! America is like an abusive parent that sends their kid to their room without dinner, except for life. Look as long as Black Panther revolutionaries are in prison but thieving bankers aren’t this Criminal Justice System will not and cannot be trusted. 

The ninth point states: We Want All Black People When Brought To Trial To Be Tried In Court By A Jury Of Their Peer Group Or People From Their Black Communities, As Defined By The Constitution Of The United States. We believe that the courts should follow the United States Constitution so that Black people will receive fair trials. The Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution gives a man a right to be tried by his peer group. A peer is a person from a similar economic, social, religious, geographical, environmental, historical and racial background. To do this the court will be forced to select a jury from the Black community from which the Black defendant came. We have been, and are being, tried by all-White juries that have no understanding of the “average reasoning man” of the Black community.

This one is pretty simple, just because some white kid from the burbs can quote Tupac doesn’t mean they understand the struggles of being black or brown in this country! But our justice system likes to think so, because they can get jiggy with it. Huh? Come on! Amirite? Virtually every single Black Panther trial had a white jury when they were sentenced. They got jiggy with alright…jiggy with oppression.   

And finally the last point: We Want Land, Bread, Housing, Education, Clothing, Justice And Peace. When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect of the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

This sounds a little confusing, but to break it down, they’re saying that if there are laws that separate us from our rights to have land, bread, housing, education, clothing, justice & peace, then we should separate ourselves from those laws. Basically this is calling for a divorce from an abusive system that exploits the people for their labor and resources and gives them nothing in return! The problem is sometimes you have an ex that wants to gaslight you, set your shit on fire and then taser you but still say they love you, which makes the divorce process longer and more difficult!

Now some folks might say “well Krish we have a lot of these things, America isn’t living in the dark ages. We got rid of slavery here! Sure we support slave labor in other countries, but that’s because we need our devices to watch porn on the go!” And this is the difference in the white perspective and the minority perspective. Most white people compare the state now to where we used to be. And for the minority community is about where we should be. These 10 points reflect where we should be while recognizing where we are and understanding where we’ve come from!
